How can I use smilies and images?

You've probably seen others use smilies before in e-mail messages or other bulletin board posts. Smilies are keyboard characters used to convey an emotion, such as happiness or sadness .

To insert a smiley into your forum post, just click on the smiley icon in the editor toolbar, then select the smiley you want.

Can I add a hyperlink to my messages?

The easiest way to add a hyperlink is to click the 'Insert/Edit Link' button in the editor toolbar. This brings up the 'Link' popup. What you do next depends on whether you want to link to a web page or an email address:

To link to a webpage, select 'URL' as the 'Link Type', then type the address of the web page in the 'URL' field.

To link to an email address, select 'E-Mail' as the 'Link Type', then type the email address into the 'E-Mail Address' field.

Finally, click the 'OK' button to add your link to your post.

Can I change the format of my text?

You can format your text just as you would in a word processor. To apply formatting such as bold, italics and underlining, click-and-drag with your mouse to select the text which you would like to format, then click the appropriate button on the editor toolbar.

Many other formatting effects are available from the editor toolbar, such as lists, indents, text size and colour.
